About me… as a Coach

My story begins in third grade, actually.  (I promise it won’t take 27 years to tell the story).  We had an assignment in Ms. Ashby’s class to find a word in the dictionary that our fellow classmates would articulate, define, and spell.  I opened what was once a huge book and my eyes landed on the word “psychology”.  Whoa, this will get ‘em!  When I read the definition of the word psychology something happened inside of me.  My heart was beating a little faster and I felt “watched”- kind of like how it felt to find a dirty magazine in your parents’ room.  And this voice crept into my head and a knowing followed- “I will help people”.

This fact never compromised.  I held it dear to me.  It was something I knew and stated as confidently as “I am a girl”.  So, of course that meant I would study psychology and get a PhD- yada yada.  I went that route until one day a woman I worked with when I was 23 said, “you should be a Life Coach”- a Life What?

It was perfect!  I could help people and empower them all in the same biscuit.

I pursued training and found an organization that caught my eye called Coaching from Spirit, which really spoke to the holistic, intuitive part of me.  Meanwhile, I’m continuing to study, train, and lead in the Clarity Process which teaches, through experience, listening, seeing people as whole and “right” as they are and offering direction to see new perspectives.  This training got into my bones (as probably anything would after 12 years) and gave me the beliefs I have today- that we are good and we all carry patterns.  And more importantly, we are not our patterns- or at least we don’t have to be.  This belief set me apart and began to define the way I work with people.

No judgment.  There’s nothing to fix.  And if I can help it, you are not going to judge yourself!  I like to say, “You can’t see something that’s stuck on your face,” (I know, the most intelligent thing you’ve ever heard) but I like to try to give visuals when I speak, it helps us learn and remember.  So, if you can pry the judgment away enough that you can begin to see it, then you can do something with it.  It’s now visible to you, not just everyone else.

Mix all this in with years of studying, training, and my experience Coaching and out comes someone who believes in you, supports you, and loves you AND wants you to pick up your bag ‘o past and expects you to do something with it- unload it, unleash it, understand it.  It’s kind of like Mother Theresa’s BootCamp.  (I heard she was actually a little fussy so that analogy works- minus the worldwide healer part, for now).

I am a Life Coach for people who consider their feelings and honor their past as a tool and stepping stone to a rockin’ life from here on out.

Life isn’t all about accomplishments, it’s also about YOU being you.
